Why Open Science Matters
The primary goal of the open science movement is to increase the transparency and accessibility of research findings. Replicability and reproducibility of results is critical to psychological research, and science more broadly, as it ensures the integrity of scientific claims. These claims, in turn, can influence real-world behavioural changes and policy decisions and can impact people’s health and well being, meaning that it’s crucial to ensure that we can rely on our science!
Open science practices often includes open access to data and code, as well as pre-registration of research findings.
